Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Monsignor Luke October 7 Ravel, Bishop French armies.
He named Monsignor Patrick Le Gal titular bishop of Arisitum and auxiliary of the Archdiocese of Lyon.
A bishop who is head of a diocese is named titular bishop or In partibus infidelium (ie "in the lands of the infidels "in Latin). The Diocese of Arisitum Merovingian is a former diocese whose location is not really determined and which would be around Alès, Le Vigan, Arre or Vissec.
