Association Sportive et Culturelle Castel Water
Summer 1969. This is where it all began. We were a few on the common place, before the store of John Andre Tambini, when three young boys, Charlie, Jacqui and Jean-Marie approached and gave me a 100 franc note, saying: ' Here, we made the quest in the village that we build a stadium at Pian di Populu '.
We all watched in awe, then everyone from his proposal, we finally decided to organize a shooting cock. The night vigil we made our cartridges ourselves again on Saturday and Sunday took place the shot. After a few sessions we had together enough money to bring an earthmoving machine in the village. Meanwhile the various owners of Pian di Populu had been contacted and most of them not only gave their consent but were present from their land.
So we decided to bring a bulldozer in the village.
Route Pruno being too narrow for transportation, the vehicle had to get on his tracks to Caldane Comperata. Through the village was simply epic. "
To avoid damaging the road, young and old alike took turns placing slabs under the tracks. All that the village had to valid was there to help while the others were also there as a sign of approval. Within hours
habits of San Gavino had changed. People no longer met the common place, but they went to Pian di Populu to witness the progress. When the stage began to take shape the unthinkable has come true: the money has flowed in from all sides to bring this work to completion.
Thus was born the stadium.
Such enthusiasm led to the creation of an association: U Lampione ', the name of the premises which had been built for young people. The purpose of this association was to retain the youth in the village without having to go play elsewhere. With this success ever growing achievements have multiplied and the original association has evolved into the Sports and Cultural Association of Castel d'Acqua. Its sole purpose was to bring as many people of San Gavino and elsewhere around some sporting events, cultural or simply festive. This lasts
since 1969 and all the credit goes to the enthusiasm and volunteer a certain number of people still willing to pay for their persons whenever necessary.
I'm so grateful for these people that I wish they had the same fate as the Greek gods that Homer described:
'Whether they are immortal and have eternal youth' Statin
